Has anyone else seen some slow performance copying large sets of files under Windows 2000? I do not know what the difference is, but I've seen slower performance with the same file systems / hard drives under Win2K/1.2 GHz Athlon/512 MB RAM than with a scrawny P5-200 with 64 MB RAM running Win98. When I copy a large tree, it starts off reasonably snappy, and then it eventually slows way down. It seems to be obvious only when moving a GB+ of files around. I've seen it take 30 seconds to copy a single 50k file. I usually have to bail out when I notice this happening. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, Joseph Maddison
