The only concern I have with that is, that sometimes I get files with 
the long filename whacked, so they end up with names like 
techsp~1.doc. There may already a techspec.doc and a techspec1.doc 
(with SFN techsp~2.doc). I don't even care if the orginal techsp~1.doc 
gets renamed to techsp~2.doc, but I do care if it overwrites the other 
file or doesn't copy itself over. This is one of the great bugaboos of 
moving files in Explorer.

On another note, is there any way to get XXCOPY to set the date on 
copied directories to the orginal directory? After all, copying files
doesn't reset the file date...
