Hello Dwayne: Nice to hear from you. Your name is quite familiar to me and your post gave me a reassurance that my second mass-emailing (which I described as a disaster) at least had one positive result. As I said, getting a warning letter from the ISP and being called as a spammer was something I did not expect... Dan's and your comments are quite encouraging and I might just relax a little more. >Don't be discouraged by a low number of posts each day. The thrust of my message today was that everyone assumes that the membership count will go up by itself. I am challenging to that notion. I will not do a Mass Emailing for this group. That is for sure. And I repeat my skepticism for an automatic increase in the membership that is the only concern I have with this group. The contents of the group so far are excellent. What is the basis for your optimism that the group will grow all by itself? I agree with you that lurker are welcome. We should all feel good that our message are reaching to thousands of lurkers. Let me rephrase my question: "how are you guys planning to increase the lurker population?" I have argued that there is hardly any external mechanism to increase the subscriber population. Of course, I concede that I have little experience in this kind of discussion group except that I'm a lurker member of a Linux users' group in the Chicago area.
