But I think I am a bit of a rare species. Most people want nothing to do with DOS or the command line at all. I suppose that there are professional computer people who do want to drop back into DOS for various reasons as well as some of us old timers but I wonder where the future is for xxcopy and many other command line programs that are focused on Windows platforms. I'm not real sure that any Windows systems are going to be main stream for too much longer . My ignorance may show a bit in wondering if xxcopy could be compiled in a java type language so that it became transportable across many operating systems. Or, perhaps xxcopy could be compiled with a GUI in such a way that it was operated from Windows so that the herd of Windows users that no nothing of DOS might feel it is ok to use it. Frankly I have never been happier than when I ran IBM PC DOS with 4dos on top of it. Everything could be kept so tightly organized and in a way everything was simple. But bucking the tide makes for a lonely computer user. Just another idle thought but just maybe xxcopy could be integrated with other software to give it some leverage on the eyeballs of lust. I have a peice of freeware that does defrag before Windows loads so that it has complete sys resources at hand and is faster. I could see xxcopy doing an auto backup as the other program did a defrag and also my Reg Compactor program could also run in one swoop. That would be neat. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Auctions - buy the things you want at great prices http://auctions.yahoo.com/
