The automatic download-ready-notification Email comes with a
"canned" message which I did not write (but sufficiently close
to what ought to be said). If I learn how to modify the default
wording in the notification Email, I will try to be more descriptive
next time...

It was a bug fix. In this particular case, I did not investigate
the extent of the effects of this particular bug. The bug made the
/NW and /ND switches from working (but these switches are not very
popular).

Since it's not a major feature addition/modification, the bugfix
was not mentioned in the highlight section of the main page.

In general, the best place to find the difference in the new
release is to see XXTB #99 (http://www.xxcopy.com/betatest/xxcopy99.htm)
if you are curious of the reason of the new release.

By the way, I want everybody to be aware that the XXCOPY main web
page still shows the "OFFICIAL" release version v.2.44.4 and
the technical bulletins which is linked from the main page
(http://www.xxcopy.com/xxcoyp/) are still for that version
(especially for the command switch reference which undergoes
frequent updates).

And, the new beta version mentioned in this board (v 2.56.x) is
shown in a new set of web pages (http://www.xxcopy.com/betatest)
including the new set of technical bulletins.
