My computer is all scsi C is 2 gig and d is 9 gig external. I did a clone of c to d and all went well except nothing was recorded in my log file. XXCOPY C:\ D:\ /CLONE /yy /Xwin386.swp /oaxxcopy.log I have had a all scsi computer for 5 years with a 2940U card, all 50 pin drives and yes I know how to boot from any drive by changing the information in the adaptec bios - I have no idea why the computer would not boot for one day, I shut it down several times and did a cold start and several times did restart. Never would it boot past the win98 screen with the clouds. Then I turned off the external scsi drive and it booted first time. Next day after work I decided to work on the problem and there was no longer a problem it booted first time with the external scsi drive turned on. Wed - today it booted first time with the external drive turned on. I am learning C++ and reading about win98 code here and there and win98 is not a perfect code - I heard there are many C++ errors Microsoft left in the code. thanks for xxcopy as I plan to use this to keep a safe copy of c drive so when I mess up c drive I can be back in business in 10 mins. First time ever I can say this. Was xxcopy written with C++? If so can we see the code? thanks inventor84 at att net --- In xxcopy@y..., Barry Gershenfeld wrote: > You weren't clear if the SCSI drive was just something you > copied from or if it is in the system now.
