All I am saying is, the best place for a "movie trailer" as you have described it, is during the installation, not during the first copy. I read faster than that... and if I choose to agree even without reading, scrolling slowly is still not going to make me read it. I'm concerned that you will annoy the very base of users you are looking for... those of us that are willing to support shareware that is useful to us. If noone else notices or cares, then I guess it's just me, so annoy at will! > XXCOPY, being an old fashioned command-line program, reminds us > that we all are veteran computer users, are we not? > my first impression was that the screen scrolled too fast to > read anything. At that time, I really preferred the XT's > "optimum" scroll speed. I use a program called "more" that is a part of DOS that allows you to get a screen of text, read it as fast or as slowly as I desire, and then hit the space bar to get to the next screen. I honestly can't remember the last time a DOS program took it upon itself to pace the scrolling. (Can you give any examples in a professional program dated 1984 or newer?) > Anyway you look at it, XXCOPY shows a classic scrolling display :-) > Or, are you suggesting a new switch to control the scroll speed? I'd suggest piping the output to "more", or emulating that behavior. But, as I say, if I'm the only person, that finds this annoying, don't worry about it. Thanks, Joseph
