Sorry that the message was left unanswered. Here's my answer. It was a bug which prevented v.2.56.x from working correctly with the /oF switches. That has been fixed in the latest version v.2.56.4. We try to summarize the changes in the new version in the Highlights section in the betatest web page: http://www.xxcopy.com/betatest/#tag_09 Enjoy the new one. -------------- Speaking of the new /oF switch, the format of the lines which is generated by this switch is controlled by a new (not yet well documented) switch /FM (stans for FORMAT) which accepts the following parameters: A Attirbutes D File Date T File Tiem Z Size S Shortname L Full path (long name) You can use these letters in any order and the order in which these letters are specified as the /FM parameter will determine the order of the filename output. This scheme is identical to the way /Lxxxx switch is treated. E.g., XXCOPY \mydir\ \dst\ /oF /FMDTZ /ONmylist.log Here, the /FMDTZ switch tells XXCOPY to report Date Time Size Fullpath In that order (Note if both S and L are absent in the format specifier, L will be appended at the end which makes the full path to appear at the end). The screen display by /oF will not change from the traditional "Fullpath followed by size" format unless the action is /L (for listing only). (I.e., the absence of /FM specifier is equivalent to /FMLZ). With the introduction of /FM switch, the legacy /Lxxx switch is now interpreted as a shortcut of the equivalent form /L followed by /FMxxx. I hope everybody can get used to this (admittedly confusing) implementation. ------------- Incidentally, the newest version (v.2.56.4) has no "known" bugs. It's been a while since we had this claim as of the release time. And. we feel very good at that. Ideally speaking, we would like to make every release free from "Known" bugs (innocence is to our advantage to claim no KNOWN bugs). Today, it is extremely difficult to come with a bug free program of substantial size and complexity. We are trying...
