I made it //ff60 and it's terrific! I'll order a single user license right now -- and thank you so much for a terrific response to my biggest (well, computer-wise) problem! Any way to get rid of the once-per-line nag "You have selected a command switch which is designed primarily for users with a Corporate Site License?" My command lines look like this: xxcopy c:\stuff h:\stuff /bi/ff60/s/nx0/q/yy Which of those is triggering the warning? Chaz At 06:42 AM 6/22/2001, you wrote: Good Morning Everybody: This is not really the release for a bug fix. It is an enhancement of the file time comparison scheme which has not been working very well. The new version with /FF (Fuzzy Filetime match) allows you ultimate flexibility in the filetime comparison. This switch can be used to handle the common problematic cases of incremental backup and synchronization between an NTFS volume and a FAT volume. The FF switch allows you to specify the slack value in filetime comparison in one or two direction. Since the way the parameters are set in this switch is so flexible, you may find other uses than directory synchronization jobs. For example, you may pick up a group of files based on approximate date/time and this new feature allows you to specify the range however large (in days if you want) it could be. ======================================================== Here is the syntax /FF // same as /FF2 /FF<n> // same as /FF+<n>/FF-<n> /FF+<n> // filetime match with +n second slack /FF-<n> // filetime match with -n second slack /FF0 // cancel both the positive and negative slacks The parameter <n> can be appended with a suffix letter S(econd), M(inutes), H(ours), or D(ays). If no suffix is supplied, the parameter is interpreted as the number of seconds. The legacy /FT (Filetime Truncate) and /FR (Filetime RoundUp) are being phased out since the new /FF will take car of the both cases. Note that the /FF switch affects *ALL* filetime comparison operations which are carried out in the following switch. /BI, /BU, /BS, /BX, /BO, /BN, /DA, /DB, /CLONE, /TS, /TD Anxious to hear feedback from NT/Win2K users.
