Given the prevalence of free, shareware, and for fee on-the-fly encryption solutions, do we really think that data on board pcs on an aircraft with top secret data flying near potentially hostile territory wouldn't use *something* to encrypt the data on the hard drives? On another aside, I have to say that I (and people I know) have had *terrible* luck with WD hard drives just suddenly giving up the ghost when it is least convenient. They'll replace them, sure, but it's a hassle, and you're out whatever data was not backed up. I've had 3 out of four WD hard drives die. In contrast, I have yet to see a Maxtor drive bite it. Cheaper just aint worth it, so I don't by WD hard drives any more. Joseph Maddison Minneapolis, MN
