OK, I'm not looking for flames here, but I have a complaint. Xxcopy is too big! Let me explain... I have a fairly complete boot floppy that my collegues and I to use when dealing with clients computers when windows is screwed up. I really like XXCOPY, but it's much bigger than MS's XCOPY, and the boot disk has less than 10k to spare. Now, I understand that XXCOPY has far more capability, but I would be willing to trade a some portion of "extra" functionality for an .exe file that is the same size or smaller than MS's XCOPY. How possible would it be to have a 16-bit "XXCOPYLT" (xxcopy lite)? If that is just not going to happen, does anybody have any alternatives for a XCOPY-like program that uses the same basic switches as MS? Thanks. PS - in case anyone is wondering, this (single) boot floppy can: sys xcopy fdisk format scandisk deltree edit attrib grep sed extract from .CABs access most IDE CD-ROM drives read files on NTFS partitions access parallel and IDE Zip drives list and copy with and by LFNs recognize and remove non-DOS partitions edit previous and current CLs use (short) file name completion And most imporantly... Log into an NT domain (IF the NIC has DOS drivers) I keep FTP, Telnet, Antivirus, and other tools on the server.
