Have you considered creating a CAB file and extracting the contents to a RAM disk like the Win98 startup disk? I just compressed xxcopy 2.70.2 into a CAB format and it is only 87KB (60% smaller). I have an older RAM disk driver and CAB extraction program (thus smaller) that work just fine with Win98. Also, what OS is your bootdisk? DOS 6.22 system files and much smaller than Win98. Naturally, you there are trade-off's but 6.22 works for most situations. If it is W98, did you delete the DRVSPACE.BIN file? That is a lot of space that is usually not needed. >How possible would it be to have a 16-bit "XXCOPYLT" (xxcopy lite)? Even with the techniques discussed above, I would still be interested in a "lite" version. >PS - in case anyone is wondering, this (single) boot floppy can: This sounds like a very handy disk - would you be willing to share the fruits of your labour? I also have many boot disks for various scenarios. Another item to consider (space permitting) is the DOS based program that allows you to reset NT passwords from a boot disk.
