From time to time, we encounter a potential user who was
told by someone to use XXCOPY but does not know the basics of
command line processing. We were tempted to write a technical
bulletin for DOS Box. But then, it will be a can of worm.

So, we decided to write an article with extremely terse
instructions with a good set of pointers to other web
sites which serves the needs of DOS Box novices.

So far I picked up the following sites:

4-page series. Step by step. Good narrative tutorial.

2. http://www3.sympatico.ca/rhwatson/dos7/commandintro.html

Good as a reference, each command is explained with
a dedicated page with examples.

3. http://teckies.com/tutor/dos/

A very good site. It is shorter than the earlier one.

4. http://www.animatedsoftware.com/faqs/learndos.htm#cd_command

This site is shorter. Therefore, if you are in a hurry,
this page may be good. But, less text per command and
that may possibly make this page harder to learn.

5. http://www.computerhope.com/msdos.htm

Not that great.

6. http://www.glue.umd.edu/~nsw/ench250/dostutor.htm

Six lessons. The page is text-only. Looks good.

7. http://cs.senecac.on.ca/~ops134/resources/commandline1.htm

Shortest of all.

Anybody, any comments on the above sites?

Does any of you have pointers to similar (or better)
sites to equip a command-line illiterate with sufficient
knowledge to run XXCOPY /CLONE and then start learning
more of other XXCOPY commands.

Although we are planning to offer a complete GUI version
of XXCOPY, we should also educate them to be able to write
a useful batch file.
