What is the error message exactly? The exact error message is: "Disk i/o error...replace the disk and then press any key" Actually, sys c: results in a "Sector not found writing drive C" > > Is the HDD the only HDD in the PC? Is the master/slave relationship correct? Yes...the drive is the only drive . > Can you perform a DIR C: after booting from floppy disk and see the correct > drive and files in the root? Yes If I run the DOS version of scandisk, I get a "scandisk cannot read from last cluster on drive c", then goes on to talk about LBA vrs CHS and suggests that I have drive parameters set up incorrectly. I used auto-detect in BIOS for setting parameters. Just for grins, I also tried the other options (LBA, Large and Normal) to no avail. Perhaps the problem is simply that the drive was fdisked and formatted in a different machine prior to the cloning operation?? Thank-you much MM Frank > > >
