I did manage to get the drive bootable again. I stuck the drive back in the computer that I believe it was originally formatted/fdisked in, booted with a boot disk of the same OS as the cloned image, and was able to sys the drive. Some of the apps were a bit buggy for some reason, but it boots and I can get to the data, which is all I really wanted anyway. What I'm still unclear on is the FAT16 vrs FAT32 issue. All of the HDs that I successfully cloned were all FAT32 to begin with. Does xxcopy care about this? In other words, lets say you have an existing FAT16 bootable volume and you are xxcopy /clone-ing it to a new drive with FAT32 /large disk support enabled. Is that OK??? Also, what I did before was to clone a bootable FAT32 volume to a HD on a Win95A system (over the LAN) that does NOT support FAT32 at all. Was that a mistake? When I put the cloned volume back in the PC I was cloning from, it was no longer FAT32, but now was FAT16. Thank-you! Frank
