Hi Folks! I use the xxcopy /clone/yy c:\ d:\ for storing a backup copy. When Windows won't boot, I use xxcopy16 to copy the backup to the c: drive. Then it will boot to Windows but have several truncated file and folder names of course. I handle those by doing a FIND with nothing but ~ typed in the name field and and deleting all found. Then I use xxcopy in a Windows box to do the restore again. That all works fine. My question is, since the clone switch is supposed to delete any files contained in the destination that don't exist in the source, why do I have to do the FIND operation and delete them manually. I have tried to omit that step but the files survive the subsequent copy over. Thanks for any insight you can give. Don
