David, the following thoughts come to mind: 1. not clear from your note why the WIN98 approach that you use does not work in a WIN2000 environment ......... you mentioned that you used 3rd party cloning software and supposedly you could get the same software for WIN2000, 2. I would have thought that an alternative in either environment would have been running xxcopy to clone the drive, so long as the partitions were set up as bootable partitions. I'm not sure what I'm missing here. The issue is unclear to me and maybe to others.
