I hope this is a simple question for someone!! I have just spent the past 5 hours searching all the previous post in this group and haven't found a deffinate answer. Can XXCOPY move directories from one drive to another based on the modification or creation date of a directory? I'm the Network Administrator for a Laboratory and we have an instrument that creates a new subdirectory every morning based on the date. Like all the other instruments, I would like to leave the files where they are for 30 days. After that time they would be moved to a "TAPE ARCHIVE" directory, where they can be backed up on tapes before the files are removed from the system. We have 2 batch processors that run .bat files all day long, one of the jobs being, moving the files that are older than 30 days. There is much more detail that I could add to this email but I would like to keep this easy. If it is possible to move directories based on date created/modified and ignore the actualy file dates within that directory could you please point me in the right direction. Thanks for taking the time!! Shayne Kolata
