Dear Kan I have read some of the messages regarding the /RC operation with interest, but none answers my query. I want to search a directory and its subdirectories for specific files. Having found them I want to move them to another (flat) directory. I tried xxcopy "c:\source dir" "c:\dest dir" /SGF /RC /ED /PD0 which works fine if the destination file doesn't exist, but if the destination files does exist it creates an additional dir called $$XCPY$$.$00 containing the said file. Is there any way to get xxcopy to overwrite existing files in this operation? Regards Colin
