Your problem sounds like you have not formatted the disk. Make sure it is a CD-RW disk (not a CD-R disk) and that it's rated for the write speed of your CD-RW Drive using CD-RW media. For instance I have an external USB CD-RW Drive that cannot write at greater than 4x speed so I buy labeled CD-RW 4x blanks. Try http://www.cdrfaq.org/ for further info on cd recording.
