Bob, if you watch Defrag running you will see that it (sometimes) absorbs the non movable areas into the defragmented files. I think that many are just markers for the defrag program (unless you are referring to actual "bad" segments which are not in use). If you use /CLONE frequently to generate and update a drive intended for backup purposes, that drive may benefit from a defrag when, ultimately, you put it into use.
