Calvin: Nearly all of the user prompts are for safety. We are quite aware that the prompts that XXCOPY generates are nuisance. And, the easiest way to eliminate them is to use the /YY. But, this is not what we recommend. It is a way to give up the safety features. Instead, we suggest that you read the warning message and try to understand why the message is there. Since it may be the last chance for you to abort a devastating operation which was inadvertently entered, you should be alert. To remove the warning message, type ? and XXCOPY will give you a short help text with the switch that will suppress the warning. Whenever XXCOPY is about to perform an operation, it will generate a warning one way or another. 1. file overwrite /Y 2. before file delete by /Z /ZY 3. before file delete by /Rxx /RxY 4. before entering a directory for a delete operation /PD0 ... The following section of XXTB #27 explains the various prompts and how to suppress them http://www.xxcopy.com/xxcopy27.htm#tag_320 Now, there are a few user prompts that cannot be removed from an operation using the Freeware. In such a case, you need to acquire the Pro version. In general, advanced features for professionals and network operations are for XXCOPY-Pro. They are summarized in http://www.xxcopy.com/xxcopy34.htm Kan Yabumoto ===================================================== At 2002-09-11 20:36, you wrote: >Is it possible to bypass that "Press Ctrl-C to abort, any other key >to being copying file(s)" prompt???
