Ed: I have never really paid attention to the applog directory. By looking at the directory, I find a lot of .LGC files which look like an ordinary text file that you can examine. Apparently, the Win98 system keeps track of what files were opened when a program is running. It shows all the .DLL files and even the data files the program accesses while it is executing. It looks like a useful info when you are curious about what files are being used by a program for debugging purposes. My guess is that when you run XXCOPY, its own activities are monitored by the system and the ongoing file accesses are recorded on the fly. Therefore, the system must block an access to the current XXCOPY.LGC file by any program. I suppose it is harmless to just ignore the error. Alternatively, you may use an /X switch to make it quiet.
