I've seen this sort of behavior before, but my impression was that this dialog is being generated by Windows, since performing a dir /s whatever will trigger the dialog when the search hits the directory in question. I've also seen the directory so hosed that chkdsk/scandisk couldn't find a problem. Had to reformat the volume... very odd, but I doubt I'd give up FAT32 for NTFS. Joseph Maddison Minneapolis, MN
