Thank you. I have been saying and explaining this to people for many years, and getting a continuous din of "only on servers" or "you don't need it". It is so refreshing to have someone else actually recognize the problem. People just don't realize that a cosmic ray a year ago could be causing problems that just showed up today, and that all their backups may be useless. I often compare ECC to safe sex.
