Have you run a scandisk / chkdsk check recently? Perhaps there is a problem
with the file? If you run into problems that are file-specific... it's
important to check that the file is not damaged as that could explain it.

Can Windows Explorer copy the file? If XXCOPY is having problems, I would
think a plain old COPY would fail as well, which leads back to a file system 
problem. If not, it's important to know.
