do you mean by "running"?

Answer: USe CTRL+ALT+DEL keys on your keyboard and check to
see of DirectCD and/or InCD are listed. One HAS to be for the
copy to work. If BOTH are listed, one should be turned off. If
none are listed, one needs to be.

Also, as Chaz implied, is your CD-R or CD-RW media already
formatted? That must also be completed before using XXCOPY.
