Dear Kan, I already looked trough the technical reference but still with the /BU (includes the /E) parameter it will not create a new directorie on the destination when te source directorie is empty. Hope you can help me. Since overwriting is a "destructive" operation, XXCOPY will issue a warning. As a matter of fact, XXCOPY generates many different warnings, depending on the circumstances (there are many ways to destroy your data). The easiest way to learn which switch to use in order to suppress a warning prompt is to type "?" at the prompt. XXCOPY will give you a short help text showing which switch to use. The following section of our web site gives you a summary of all the prompt-suppressing switches. http://www.xxcopy.com/xxcopy27.htm#tag_320 You may use the all-purpose prompt-buster switch, /YY but I don't recommend it since it is like removing the seat belt from your car.
