I just realized that my batch file was running an earlier version of XXCOPY - 2.80.2 I believe - and so I edited to make SURE it was running the latest version, 2.82.7. I'll see if that helps out my /CLONE operation to the USB2 kit drive. So far, no fatal error! p.s. notice I am bottom-posting rather than top-posting! A lot of people are picky about that. jim
