I just discovered XXCOPY, but am not sure how to restore a windows 98 partition. If xxcopy has to be run inside a windows box to run as 32 bit (in order to to preserve file names), how do I replace operating system files when windows won't allow it? Do I have to restore with xxcopy16 in real DOS mode? Also... regarding windows XP compatability... I read that xxcopy is compatable with copying XP files, but can't create a bootable partition. Does that mean I can restore the directory structure but need to perform extra steps to make it bootable? Or is it not useable to backup the entire set of operating system files? Thanks in advance...
