Chaz, Thanks a million! That worked. I did a follow-up post that stated what I was running. I realized I had not included that in my original post, but had already hit the send button. I am still very new with the use of xxcopy. When I was backing up to a hard drive in my XP machine, the code from my original post worked just fine. It must be the "feature" Microsoft uses regarding time-stamps. With regard to the /BN switch. Unless I am misreading something, there appears to be two uses for /BN??? Thanks again Chaz.
