Kan, Thank you for your reply...this lightens my day greatly. Is their any guidance on how to configure this "packet write" situation? I have seen some hints that say you only need a formatted DVD and a process of the nero or directCD running. So far, XXCOPY has not been able to write to my disc. I probably missed a simple step, but I have not been able to locate any step-by-step instructions that help us novice DVD'rs get upto speed. I will tackle the Ahead software InCD help files again. Thanks, Marek Kan Yabumoto wrote: XXCOPY is hardware-neutral. XXCOPY does not normally distinguish between a hard disk and a floppy. What you need to do is to set up a "packet-write" CD/DVD drive software. InCD from Ahead software which is packaged in their Nero product is what we recommend. Once your CD/DVD is under control of such a software, the drive is basically a virtual hard disk. XXCOPY is not smart enough to handle CD/DVD all by itself and it should not get involved in hardware-specific activities.
