Hi, Dan. I tried this option only once, and didn't have any luck retrieving or getting at the data that I created previously to the close, so I've never used this feature agian. The problem may be that I tried to create both a data CD and a Music CD on the same disk. When it comes to backing up my data, I find that a complete burn is the most reliable of all three options, so that's about all I use these days. Best Regards, Martin I doubt, therefore I might be. ================ Kan, does xxcopy in any way determine the space available on a CD? If using packet write to perform backups, what happens when there isn't enough room on the CD to complete the operation? Does xxcopy abort before it starts the write process, or does it write files out to the CD and then abort when there is no more room? Martin
