This sounds reasonable. reasonable. I may look into getting this. I have tried a few times to contact you from the number listed on the license. But no answer. Is it just the day or has the number changed. -----Original Message----- From: Kan Yabumoto [mailto:tech@x...] Sent: Wednesday, January 01, 2003 11:38 PM To: xxcopy@yahoogroups.com Subject: [xxcopy] XXCOPY Pro Nomad Edition Since XXCOPY does rely on the system registry's entry for its operation, you do need to install XXCOPY one way or another. if you do not want the registry to become messy by using XXCOPY, you should run the following command at the end of the batch file to uninstall it (delete XXCOPY- related entries in the registry). xxcopy /uninstall Anyway, you can fully automated the operation if you have the XXCOPY.LIC file. But, if the computers that are being accessed by XXCOPY-Pro repeatedly, we strongly urge that you leave the XXCOPY installation footprint behind. ============== Aside from the corporate site license which is based upon the premise that the total number of computers that are accessed by XXCOPY is relatively static, we have another XXCOPY-Pro package which we call the "Nomad" edition. This is a special kind for consultants and system integrators whose usage with XXCOPY is exclusively on their customers' computers on a limited time usually, within 24 hours on each machine. The nomad package, if run from a CD or floppy directly, will not generate the license related user-prompt at all at the beginning (but it will display a warning on the first execution of XXCOPY Nomad on subsequent days). The Nomad package is sold by # of copies of XXCOPY in a "traditional" sense ($100 per copy). That is, if your organization has three consulting engineers who uses XXCOPY Nomad, then you order three such copies --- you make three floppies/CDRs with the Nomad version and carry from one machine to the next.
