There are many freeware tools to set the system clock using various internet resources. I used to use a batch file script which ran a small command-line program which checked a server which was at Harvard University (and a few alternative site). But, I recall it had problem later and I stopped using. Lately, I haven't been using such a tool. But, I just ran a Google search (keyword: set pc time internet free). I chose PTBSync (for not much reason other than just it was there and it was free). http://www.webattack.com/get/ptbsync.shtml I just ran the program and it alters the appearance of the time display at the right bottom corner (with seconds ticking). Although it initially complained that my system had "wrong" font size. No way, I do not want such a petty utility to tell me my font size choice was "WRONG". Apparently, it really care about the appearance. It seems to give me sufficient control on how often it will try to re-synchronize with some standard time (uses some Internet resource). It says it adjust once in every three days. At this level, it really does not matter whether it is done once a day or once a week. The crystal on my motherboard keeps the time within a few seconds per months. Anyway, PTBSync seems good enough. It claims that it is a "donationware", a new breed somewhere between freeware and shareware, I guess. -------------------------------------------------------- The program talks about Greenpeace, saving whale, etc. Quite politically active piece of software :-) The author must be a nice guy who tries to make the world a better place to live via his software... -------------------------------------------------------- So, you pick a freeware with a good reputation and install it. I guess the key to success here is to form a good habit and technique of how to search Google effectively and use the resource. I find that the enormous resource that the Internet offers today seems so much more today than a few years ago. Is that me? My skill in search for the right stuff got better? I'm not sure. But, using Google.com, I often get satisfactory results quite often. And, most of you came to know XXCOPY as a freeware, also. I wonder how many of you found XXCOPY via Google.com search. We haven't really took a real statistics on how people learned about XXCOPY the first time...
