Hello Kan, On Apr 17, 2002, you posted a beta version 2.80.6 which supports and documents the /ip switch, among other things. Currently, we use the dinosaur 2.80.1, with the belief "if it ain't broke...", however we would like to have access to the /ip switch, so an update is unavoidable from what we can tell. (Unless there is a workaround for determining a mapped network drives presence prior to completing a command) I am a little wary in updating to a newer version, since our current batch files use switches that were available for 2.80.1 and those switches work in a certain way. To update such a powerful program, it can not be assumed the switches which worked in 2.80.1 will still work the same way in newer versions. My question is twofold: 1- If switches become obsolete in xxcopy, is the last known version number in which the switch was operational listed somewhere? 2- Is it fact that when a specific switch performs a specific step, will that switch perform the same steps in newer versions? ie- Will the /clone switch operate the same from one version to the next, or, Does /z0 mean the same thing to version 2.80.1 and 2.xx.xx? If not, is it documented somewhere which switches 'mutated' and in which versions? Thanks for any input Rich
