My advice here? Put a 'b' in the numbering scheme for betas. 2.92.6b
is a beta, and almost no one will miss that. Its a simply step and
clarifies everything quite easily. It's also very standard in the
industry. You won't confuse people. (Even people who don't read as
carefully as they should.)
