It literally can't do it. Only the shell that called xxcopy can. If you switch to a decent shell, such as 4dos, in place of command.com, it will save it. with 4dos: dir> whatever dir> echo %? 0 dir> or any other use of %? will operate on the last errorlevel returned. -- Chuck F (cbfalconer@y...)
