Even with a new OS it may well not read his present files. Micro$loth believes in "out with the old - more revenue for me, and the devil take the luser". Never install directly from CDs. Copy the appropriate directory(s) to the HD in a unique directory and install from there. Then make an offsite backup or two of that unique directory.
