XXTB #11 was the place I went to most often when I was a new user to try and make XXCOPY's switches more understandable, concrete and useful. I needed that before I could understand some of the terse definitions of all those switches. Those examples are what started me on the journey of "teach a man how to fish" as Kan likes to say. I think there should be more examples grouped by functional classification, as well as useful switch combinations whether commonplace or obscure. Kan has done that many times, posting to the group useful but not obvious (at least to me!) combinations that do just what you want. All those examples and possibly ones by others could be plowed back into the XXCOPY website and with "links" (a key point made by Jon Hugdahl, see Msg# 3996 Sub: Guidance for new users) to their own pages. If I click on a link to get a switch definition and there is another link *right there* to find out more, with examples and further details, that would be useful. dayvah49 --- In xxcopy@yahoogroups.com, "Peter & Melodye Bowers" wrote: > ALL new users should consider tech bulletin #11 (cookbook) as required > reading!!! > > The single biggest help for us as new users would be even more examples of > how experienced users use xxcopy in the real world. > > Perhaps even a contest to submit the best command files and the winners are > posted in a tech bulletin? > > Just my $0.02... > > -Peter
