I've tried XXCOPY a couple times so far to see what it can do. I mostly use the /clone part of it. In the original FAQ, we are told that XP/2000 drives won't completely clone and be bootable. Well, I've /clone 'd three 2000 drives without issue so far. I still can't get an XP /clone to run, but I'm working on it. Now comes the rub. The way I'm doing the clone is to put BOTH source and destination drives in a computer with Windows 2000 running on it. This way the drive to be cloned is NOT the boot drive. I just drop to a command prompt (CMD.exe), type in 'xxcopy d: e: /clone'(Assuming that d: is your source drive and e: is the destination). I get a confirmation dialog box and go for it. I've /clone'd two different Windows 2000 OS drives this way, and had no problem. The /clone'd drive is fully bootable with CDIS's intact. I'm typing this to you on one of the /clone'd 2000 drives. XXCOPY is the best.... Once I figure out how to do XP, it will be the ultimate best ;-) PEACE Bud
