If the list of exclusions is in file c:\excludes.txt you would use something like xxcopy \src\ \dst\ /clone /exc:\excludes.txt If you're having trouble, showing us what you tried would make it possible for us to explain what the problem is. One possible error you might be making inside your exclude file is that you might not be placing specs that include spaces inside doublequotes. For example, this line: "c:\documents and settings\fred\local settings\temp\*\" would not work as you wanted without the double-quotes. Why? Because the specs in the exclude file can be separated by spaces -- you could have two specs on one line: c:\windows\temp\*\ c:\temp\*\ though I confess that I don't understand why anyone would prefer to do that instead of putting them on separate lines, so I don't know why XXCOPY allows it.
