Don't be too hard on the USA. In the U.K. you now buy metric lengths of imperial timber sizes such as 2½ m of 4"×2" timber from the merchants! As things change, you can look forward to 150 × 150 mm bathroom tiles that won't quite mate with your old 6" × 6" and 220×110×75 mm bricks that don't bond with existing 9"×4½"×3" brick walls! The 75 cl bottle for wines and spirits was quickly adopted in the U.K., I suppose that had something to do with them being smaller than the 1/6 (Imperial) Gallon (26 2/3 Fluid Ounce) bottles they displaced!! The 70cl bottle is smaller than the 25 fluid ounce U.S. bottle so you know what's coming next at the U.S. end. 2) e-mailing For a recent holiday I wanted an easy way to send and receive my e-mails using other peoples PC's with minimum impact on them. I found a free e-mail client called popcorn from www.ultrafunk.com which fitted (260k) on a diskette together with my own addition of a sent file. It has an editable popcorn.ini file for personal configuration settings, is text only and only downloads headers until the message is chosen. You can delete (or not) from the server without download (much safer than Outlook Express). A USB "keyring" may be better for those with voluminous correspondence and the know-how to incorporate, if needed, a specific dial-up connection but 1.44MB did me for 10 days. It's small and basic but simple to use, albeit different! I hope it's of interest. Regards, Bob
