I think it's best your friend tell us his stories here.

Since everyone's system is different, it is hard to say
what it is. If I may provide a generalized statement
on file-copy failures using XXCOPY, the most common
problem is by far, the share-violation --- this is not
really a failure. It is an expected and quite natural
phenomena and nothing alarming by itself.

I still believe when hundreds of files routinely fail
to be copied by XXCOPY, it is very likely that something
like AntiVirus is interfering the file access.

The cause of unsightly line-break is due to the
original line with a hard line-break which is
chopped into two. To avoid this, it is best
everyone keep the maximum line length to be 60-64
characters long.
