My cloning always worked flawlessly with 98SE, but when I now try to 
clone with XPPro, I see many copy failed messages. Primarily with 
dat, config or log files. All else seems to work fine.

If I intend to used the cloned disk to ultimately boot up on its own, 
will this cause me any problems?
