That should actually be %0 and %1 (no trailing % which only applies to environment variables) unless 4dos supports extended syntax in this regard. %0 is the name used to invoke the batch file and %1..%9 are the parameters passed to the batch file. These have been supported in all flavours of DOS since I can remember. Kan's original question however was how to change directory to the directory where the batch file resides (pointed to by %0). This requires a bit of non-obvious syntax as my previous post details. Garry
