Cut and paste does work in a cmd/command window. Click on the icon at the left edge of the title bar, select Edit then Mark to copy text or Paste to insert previously copied text. If you set the Cmd window Properties to enable QuickEdit mode, you can also do this with the mouse. You can also drag and drop a file or directory name directly to the cmd line. In a Cmd window, type CD{space), open explorer and pick a directory then drag it to the Cmd window. If the Cmd window is obscured, drag it to the task bar over the Cmd Icon until the Cmd window opens. When you release the mouse button within the Cmd window the directory name will be inserted into the Cmd line. You can also download Microsoft's Power Toys which includes a registry edit to allow a right click in explorer to open a dos prompt at the selected directory. A google search on DosHere will turn it up. Garry
