All I'm trying to do is use xxcopy to copy one small (145kb) ziped file to multiple computers on a network. here is the command string I'm using, it has the source directory and the target directory (xxcopy c:\vsecfg.cab \\MT210030\C\program files\network associates\VirusScan\MID). when the command string is writt like this I get this error. Only two arguments allowed 1st (src): c:\vsecfg.cab 2nd (dst): \\MT210030\c\program 3rd (bad): files\network I have done this many different way, one way is to use the net use command and map a drive. then exicute the xxcopy command string the the maped dive with the directory path and I get an error about not being able to creat directory. The thing is, is that I'm copying the path directly from the windows explorer bar. I have tried using double quotes on( program files and network associates, c:\vsecfg.cab \\MT210030\C\"program files"\"network associates"\VirusScan\MID ) and then I get a different error telling me that it is an invalid directory. I try using a $ sign after c and it almost works, but asks me if I want the creat the directory ( the directory already exists), but then tells me that is could not creat diredtory. Could anyone please help me with the command string used, I feel stupid that I can not get this simple little task done. Jamie B.
