OK, it was worth a shot. A value of 0 allows the use of SFN's
(the default behaviour) so that isn't the problem. I thought
that maybe if SFNs were disabled but that Xxcopy was forcing
a SFN to be created, it might lead to an unusual result.

I can't think of anything else that would prevent the SFN
being set to that of the source file.
