XXCopy won't copy Open files for me in WinXP. While it does just 
fine on Win98? Should I ass-u-me it just hasn't caught up yet?

Any info on a not yet released 'XXClone'? I guess this is an answer 
to the above?

I've figured out how to Boot a copy of an XP drive with a minimum of 
fuss. The semi hard part right now is copying the registry 
components. I could be persuaded to trade solutions, if there was 
any interest.
